Caithfimid comhghairdeas a ghabháil le lucht na hIdirbhliana agus Gradam na Meánscoileanna bronnta ar Choláiste an Eachréidh de bharr a gcuid oibre. Bhí gearrfhísean curtha le chéile ag na daltaí ag cur síos ar na “Gaeil ar an Eachréidh”.

Cuirtear síos ar na Gaeil sa chomhsanacht seo ó aimsir na gCeilteach go dtí an lá inniu. Anois bua mór náisiúnta buaite acu.

Mar aon leis an mheid thuasluaite, ba mhaith linn a bhua a threisiú l’Oisín Bl.6 a ghnóthaigh gradam náisiúnta sa rannóg is sinsearaí do bhlagáil as aiste iontach a bhí scríofa aige ar Sóivéad Luimnigh.

Congratulations to the Transition Year students who won the esteemed award ofGradam na Meánscoileanna‘ (Secondary School Award) – The overall All-Ireland winner for the best short film produced in the country. Maith sibh!

Scoileanna Glasa: Le déanaí, bhuaigh Laura agus Grace duais na n-Ambasadóirí Réigiúnacha Uisce do Thuaisceart agus Iarthair na tíre i gcomórtas a bhí á reáchtáil ag Scoileanna Glasa agus An Taisce. Sa bhreis ar an aitheantas fuair siad €200 an duine! Maith sibh a chailíní agus buíochas le múinteoir Turlough as a chuid tacaíochta ar fad.
Well done Laura and Grace, who were recently announced  winners in Category 10,  Regional Water Ambassadors for the Northern and Western Region, run by Green schools agus an Tasice.

Bhí an t-ádh ar lucht na hIdirbhliana agus daltaí sa 5ú Bhliain

ar na mallaibh freastal ar Chruinniú Mullaigh do scoileanna 2022 in Ionad Barr Feabhais sa Chruinneachán Aeir Chumann Lúthchleas Gael Chonnachta i Maigh Eo.

Bhí seastáin ann ó Ollscoileanna fud fad na hÉireann agus ionadaíocht ó roinnt coláistí tríú leibhéal thar sáile. Mar aon leis an mhéid sin, bhí gairmtreoir tugtha ó chomhlachtaí éagsúla a bhí ar fáil i rith an lae. Cinnte, bhí deis ag scoláirí neart eolais a bhailiú maidir le cúrsaí tríú leibhéal agus gairmeacha éagsúla ó réimse urlabhraí ó na heagraíochtaí uile agus iad ar an láthair. Anois, níl le déanamh acu ach rogha a dhéanamh.

Transition year students recently attended School Summit 2022 in the Centre of Excellence Air Dome of Connacht GAA in Mayo. A great opportunity to expand their choices in their careers in the future. Quo vadis, anois?

Bua Náisiúnta Staire

Buaiteoirí Náisiúnta i gComórtas Staire na hÉireann

Comhghairdeas le Oisín Mac Aindreasa agus Evan Ó Brádaigh as a mbua iontach i gComórtas Náisiúnta Staire na hÉireann mar a fógraíodh an tseachtain seo chaite. Roghnaíodh aiste Oisín sa chéad áit agus Evan sa dara háit i rannóg na hArdteiste. Ní hamháin sin ach bronnadh príomhdhuais an chomórtais ar Oisín chomh maith. Éacht iontach gan amhras agus na buanna seo mar bhua don ghaeloideachas agus iad i gcomórtas le haistí Béarla agus Gaeilge ar fud na tíre.

Caithfidh a rá go raibh gach duine sa choláiste thar a bheith bródúil gur éirigh leis na buachaillí a bheith curtha ar an ghearrliosta náisiúnta de dheichniúr ag an leibhéal seo. Ar ndóigh, b’iontach a mbuanna a cheiliúradh agus na buaiteoirí fógraithe ag searmanas duaiseanna ar líne 11 Bealtaine.( Féach anseo)

Ghabh na moltóirí comhghairdeas le lucht na craoibhe uile agus iad ag rá gur údar bróid agus mórtais dóibh gur éirigh leo craobh an chomórtais náisiúnta a bhaint amach. Bhaineadar sásamh mór as na haistí go léir a léamh agus iad ag gabháil buíochas le rannpháirtithe uile an chomórtais as gach dúthracht a chaitheamh lena gcuid aistí. Ba léir go raibh iomaíocht nach beag ann agus scoláirí páirteach ar fud na hÉireann.

Mar sin de, Oisín anois aitheanta mar phríomhbhuaiteoir an chomórtais i gcomórtas náisiúnta staire na hÉireann agus sa chéad áit sa rannóg sinsearach i measc daltaí ardteiste na tíre. Anseo, is féidir teacht ar an taighde ar ‘Soivéad Luimnigh’.

Ná déanaimid dearmad fan éacht curtha i gcrích ag Evan agus é sa dara háit sa rannóg sinsearach i measc daltaí ardteiste na hÉireann agus is féidir teacht ar shaothar s’aigesean ar ‘Mairseáil Salainn Gandi’ anseo.

National Woodwork Award

Congratulations to Seán Ó Conaill and Múinteoir Turlough on the great achievement of being awarded second place in Ireland for Seán’s Junior Certificate WOODWORK project. The Irish Technological Teachers Association shortlisted entries to 30 projects, the winner attends a school in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary and we are all delighted with this tremendous success. Nationally, in excess of 16,000 candidates sat the Materials Technology Wood Junior Certificate examinations which gives an appreciation and context to the significance of the award – comhghairdeas le Seán agus lena mhúinteoir, Turlough.

Congratulations to all those students who were shortlisted for the competition Final in GMIT Galway. An outstanding level of craftmanship and skill was evident in all the projects presented in the GMIT. The Galway Branch of the Technoteachers organised this very successful National competition. The competition was kindly supported by the GMIT Galway and sponsored by Festool.

The judges on the night were Des Kelly (GMIT) and Daniel Gill (Local Craftman). The winning project was from Darragh Taylor from Thurles CBS in Tipperary. Darragh;’s teacher was Tim Shanahan. Congratulations to both on this great achievement.
