Second place out of @16,000 entries!

Congratulations to Seán Ó Conaill and Múinteoir Turlough on the great achievement of being awarded second place in Ireland for Seán’s Junior Certificate WOODWORK project. The Irish Technological Teachers Association shortlisted entries to 30 projects, the winner attends a school in Nenagh, Co. Tipperary and we are all delighted with this tremendous success. Nationally, in excess of 16,000 candidates sat the Materials Technology Wood Junior Certificate examinations which gives an appreciation and context to the significance of the award – comhghairdeas le Seán agus lena mhúinteoir, Turlough.

Congratulations to all those students who were shortlisted for the competition Final in GMIT Galway. An outstanding level of craftmanship and skill was evident in all the projects presented in the GMIT. The Galway Branch of the Technoteachers organised this very successful National competition. The competition was kindly supported by the GMIT Galway and sponsored by Festool.

The judges on the night were Des Kelly (GMIT) and Daniel Gill (Local Craftman). The winning project was from Darragh Taylor from Thurles CBS in Tipperary. Darragh;’s teacher was Tim Shanahan. Congratulations to both on this great achievement.
